“Come as you are. Leave as you’ve never been.”
There are few places in South Florida that embody wellness quite like the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort. I've visited Carillon numerous times over the years, and it has consistently remained one of my favorite destinations for a full day of self-care, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
One of the reasons I continue returning is the incredible value of their spa packages. Carillon frequently offers specials through Groupon, allowing guests to enjoy a facial or massage along with full access to the spa amenities, beach, pools, and wellness facilities for around $200. For Miami, that's a fantastic value!
My husband and I recently booked a last-minute weekday spa day and while our visit included a few unexpected hiccups, it also reminded me why the Carillon remains such a beloved wellness destination.
Arrival and First Impressions
Booking was easy, and despite making our reservation at the last minute, we were able to secure a facial for me and a massage for my husband.
Valet service was friendly and efficient, and parking is included with spa services when validated at checkout.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the primary elevator servicing the spa was temporarily out of order, requiring guests to access the fourth-floor spa through another set of elevators located within the hotel. There was also a temporary fire alarm issue being addressed by staff. Rather than let it impact our day, we headed directly to the pool and beach to begin relaxing and enjoying the property.
Poolside Relaxation
Despite it being Miami Swim Week, the pool area was surprisingly peaceful and uncrowded. Service was attentive throughout the day, and staff consistently checked on guests without being intrusive.
One of the highlights of my visit was the fresh coconut served poolside with the Carillon logo engraved into the shell. The coconut water was refreshing, and I happily enjoyed every bit of the fresh coconut afterward.
Lunch was enjoyable, although not particularly memorable. My husband ordered the grilled swordfish tacos, which were easily the standout dish. The food was perfectly fine, but for me, the true draw of Carillon has always been the wellness experience rather than the poolside dining.
The Spa Experience
Around 2 p.m., we returned inside to enjoy the spa amenities before our 3 p.m. treatments. While a lingering alarm-related issue created some background noise in portions of the spa, the staff worked diligently throughout the day to minimize disruptions and ensure guests remained comfortable.
Once inside the treatment areas, the atmosphere felt noticeably calmer, allowing us to fully settle into the wellness experience.
The Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit
One of Carillon’s biggest differentiators is its extensive Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit, which remains one of my favorite spa experiences in South Florida.
The circuit includes:
The Vitality Tub
The Finnish Sauna
The Crystal Steam Room
The Herbal Laconium
Heated Thermal Loungers
The Igloo Room
The Experiential Rains
The Experiential Rains continue to be one of my favorite features. Guests can choose immersive environments such as Atlantic Storm, Caribbean Monsoon, and Polar Mist, each combining water, sound, lighting, and temperature changes to create a unique sensory experience.
I also love ending my thermal circuit in the Igloo room. After spending time in the heat-based therapies, the cool air, eucalyptus aromas, and giant block of ice provide the perfect refreshing contrast.
Beyond the thermal circuit, Carillon also offers an impressive oceanfront fitness center, fitness classes, wellness programming, beach access, and multiple pools, making it easy to spend an entire day focused on self-care.
Our Treatment Experiences
My esthetician was incredibly kind and professional, especially given the circumstances of the day.
She recommended a peel-focused facial and advised against steam and extractions based on the treatment she felt would best benefit my skin. While I typically enjoy having extractions performed, I appreciated that she customized the service rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
The results were excellent. The following day my skin felt hydrated, smooth, and noticeably plumper.
The only aspect that surprised me was that the treatment room remained fully lit throughout the facial. While I understand the need to properly evaluate the skin, I found it slightly less relaxing than the dimly lit environment I typically associate with spa treatments.
At the same time, my husband enjoyed a 60-minute massage and had an equally positive experience. He described his therapist as highly skilled, attentive, and intuitive with pressure. The treatment left him feeling relaxed and refreshed, which is exactly what you hope for from a wellness day. It's always reassuring when both guests leave their treatments feeling equally satisfied.
The Boutique and Dining Options
One feature that deserves special recognition is Carillon's boutique. I've visited many spas over the years, and this is easily one of the most impressive spa boutiques I've encountered.

While many resort spas focus primarily on skincare products and wellness merchandise, Carillon has created a retail experience that feels distinctly Miami. The boutique offers an extensive selection of stylish resort wear, cover-ups, swimwear, and accessories that are both fashionable and thoughtfully curated. The space itself is surprisingly large, giving guests plenty of room to browse.
I found a few pieces for myself and could have easily spent much longer exploring the collection. If you're someone who enjoys shopping for vacation wear or updating your resort wardrobe, don't skip the boutique during your visit.
Carillon also offers a full-service restaurant in addition to its poolside dining. While we chose not to dine there during this visit, it's a convenient option for guests spending the entire day at the resort and looking for a more traditional dining experience.
Who This Spa Is Best For
One thing worth noting is that many of Carillon’s hydrotherapy amenities are located within the gender-specific locker room areas. Because of this, much of the thermal experience is enjoyed individually rather than together.
For solo spa days, mother-daughter outings, or wellness days with friends, this setup works beautifully.
For couples hoping to experience every aspect of the spa together, it may not be the ideal fit. While you can certainly enjoy the pool, beach, dining, and treatments on the same day, many of the signature wellness amenities are experienced separately.
Final Thoughts
Despite the unexpected alarm situation, Carillon remains one of my favorite wellness destinations in South Florida.

While the facility is beginning to show some signs of wear in certain areas, it remains exceptionally clean and is staffed by people who genuinely care about the guest experience.
The Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit continues to set Carillon apart from many other spas in the region, and the combination of wellness amenities, beach access, fitness offerings, and quality treatments creates an experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a full day of relaxation, self-care, and wellness in Miami, the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort remains a destination worth visiting. Just be sure to factor Miami traffic into your plans so you can hold onto that post-spa bliss for as long as possible.
